After our fabulous days in the mountains we returned to our tree bungalow at Karama Lodge. Warm showers, red wine, cold beer, delicious food and comfy beds helped to ease our achey leg muscles. I took full advantage of our last rest day… delicious breafast ,leg massage, photo sorting, and chatting with fellow riders about their mini holidays on safari to the Serengeti and Ngaorongoro Crater. Kari relaxed a bit before going into work at the local office of The Nature Conservancy. She arrived back at the lodge for lunch andthe afternoon rains. The storm was heavy enough and the lodge was so cozy that we decided to stay aother night – best decision! Instead of swimming in rain puddles in camp we relaxed on our terrace with red wine and cheese and good friends. Back on the dirt roads tomorrow!
