Rolling hills to long ascents and steep descents… temperate weather… majestic rock formations (Quana Johannes)… beautiful wildlife (a raptor swooped down and picked up a snake in its tallons)… decadent macchiatos (the Ethiopians have EXCELLENT cafe)
It all added up to a wonderful 117km from Gondor to donkey camp. Everyone was quite pleased about the ride and many said they could have kept riding when it was time to stop. But we stopped at a camp on the side of the road, immediately attracting kids and adults from nearby villages. We now have to set up a chord of perimeter to keep the people out of the lunch breaks and camps. At yoga, a whole group of kids looked on and laughed but 15 minutes into the class, even the ring leader was joining in asanas:)
After dinner, many enjoyed desert of beer or pepsi as we watched a movie of people and animals walking in silhouette in front of a glorious sunset. Kristian and Bastiaan posed the kids to spell out TDA in the light of the setting sun. Fun times at camp!
